Automatic transmission fluid change
Automatic transmission flush, filter, fill and stabiliser (where required)
Service Description
Automatic transmissions contain a fluid which transmits power, cools and lubricatates. Over time this oil is subject to extreme stress which breaks down its specialy designed compounds resulting in loss of lubricity and increased wear in the transmission. Most automatics also contain a filter which traps any debris and worn material to increase the lifespan of the transmission. Both filter and fluid should changed every 60-75,000 miles. While many transmissions are specified as 'filled for life' or 'fluid for life', their components are servicable and avalible from the manufacturer. Therefore, it is now recomended by manufacturers to perform fluid and filter changes in line with normal recomendations (above). Automatic transmissions are usually the most complex whole unit in any vehicle, and are designed and built to exact tolerances and specifications. To protect your gearbox, improve its lifespan and maintain reliable service we only use the highest quality components, fluids and filters that match or exceed the exacting specifcation set out by the manufacturer for each and every vehicle/transmission. If your automatic has covered more than 60,000 miles and you aren't sure if it's ready for a fluid change, our engineers can help determine if this is due.
